A large size Cizhou ricewine jar with text, first half 17th C. The text on the shoulder reads: made in the Great Ming period, in Shanxi province and (more specific) in Lou An (?) county. I have seen jars with different districts mentioned as place of manufacturing. Production must therefore have been spread over a larger area. Jars with a text as this are very scarce. Restoration to the neck. Height 72 cm, diameter 42 cm.
