A high quality damask silk weaving with a pattern of five-clawed dragons among clouds. Circa 1800. Dim.: 59x60,5cm The weaving has one selvage on the left side. Each dragon stands 25cm high. The ground colour is a brown that reflects in a copper-gold luster. It depends on the reflection of the light whether the dragons appear dark on a light background or the other way around. In general very good condition with a few small stains and tiny holes. Mounted on brown linen on foam board (66x66cm) There are two more fragments available of this weaving: one full-width double selvage (ca.74 x 74 cm - 875 euro) and a smaller one for 375 euro.
