Silk brocade with lotus, pomegranates and clouds, possibly made as a thanka cover or for a screen. Circa 1650. Dim.: WxH 48x67,5cm. Mounted on green cotton on foam-board (54x73cm) The design is bordered on three sides with a band of flowers and leaves. The "open" side on top shows a selvage meaning it was designed like this and complete. There's one damaged spot at the lower end, some minor stains and some tiny holes. The sides are a bit frayed (fluffy but not split). As a whole it is in fair condition considering it's age. The colours have a metallic shine and stand off nicely against the green background.
