A very large two door cabinet, Shanxi province, ca. 1750.
A well made piece of furniture with a lot of attention paid to an adequate and strong construction. The decorative aspect is focused on the ornaments on and next to the front legs. The stark craquelled lacquer is very typical for the period and points towards the mid of the 18th C. In it’s present condition the cabinet is “raw” as found in China and it will surely like some clear wax. Both back legs were rotten short and have been repaired.
