Two-door cabinet with single drawer originating from a temple, Shanxi province, first half 18th century. The compact proportions and the division of the panelwork still breaths the old Ming style, although the lacquer-techniques used make it more probable this cabinet was made shortly after 1700. The front is finished with an old red layer of lacquer over an older dark layer. Original hardware. The sides are finished in a greyish-black layer of clay-lacquer. The drawer is replaced with the use of old material. The shelf-board is original. One side-beam of the roof is replaced. Dim.: WxDxH 141x64x154cm
